Where can I get an accurate measurement of my body fat? I bought a $100 scale that claims to measure body fat but, despite losing 45 pounds from an excellent diet and working out 4 times a week, my body fat monitor still says the same. |

Congulations on your success thus far! Skin-fold test and underwater weighing are the best options to have your bodyfat determined. You can have a skin-fold test done at the Genesys Athletic Club by one of their personal trainers for a nominal fee. Electrical Impedance scales work too, but are very sensitive to hydration levels. I would suggest trying to weigh/measure your bodyfat at night once or twice/month to see if you have changes. Be sure to properly hydrate yourself the day before and throughout the day you plan to measure. If you plan to measure yourself everyday, you will find that your results will be different each time because of water intake levels and activity levels. |
