I am almost 50 years old. My weight continues to increase even though I don't eat much. I started walking about 2 miles a day and eating about 1200 calories a day and I started gaining weight instead of losing weight. I now weigh 135 pounds and I'm only 5'1". Why is this happening? Thank you

You exercise routine needs to be varied in order to stimulate muscle growth which in turn will increase your metabolism. Try to incorporate strength training into your routine. Great for muscle tone, bone building and exercise expenditure. Also, calories in don't always equal calories out...make sure you are eating quality foods. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meats, nuts and monounsaturated oils should be incorporated into a healthy diet.
