I am using the ab machine where you sit down and crunh foreward with X amount of weight resistance. When i am doing this i feel a pop on my right side of my abs...it is very uncomfortable. what is it?
It could be any number of things, from the way you're performing the exercise to the amount of weight you're lifting, to a physiological problem. Do you notice any pain or discomfort in your abdominal area during other exercises? If so, see your physician to rule out a hernia or some other condition. If this is the only time you feel it, skip that particular exercise and see a GAC personal trainer for advice on abdominal training. (Remember, you don't need a lot of weight to train your abdominals, their job is to support your spine and hold your organs in.)
