I exercise on the elliptical machine for 35 minutes a day walk 2 miles and aerobics/weight training 20 minutes a day and im not losing weight just gaining muscle? How do i lose weight?

Sounds like you may be doing too much cardio. Sounds funny, but you may be shooting yourself in the foot with all of your cardio training. I'm guessing that your intensity is not where it should be in order to lose weight if you can maintain your heart rate for that long of a duration. Try interval training or pushing your heart rate to the high end for short durations with lower intensity recovery periods. Nutrition also plays a role in the weight loss factor. Remember, calories in must be less than calories out for weight loss. Although that simple equation holds true, there are other factors that come into play, including the types of food you eat, how often you eat, and how much you eat at one sitting. You may want to come in for a body composition test. The scale is often frustrating and unrewarding, knowing you're becoming leaner and healthier is a much better option.
